The ReWire Podcast w/ Ryan Stewman

Dec 6, 2021

Business Partnerships always sound like a good idea in the beginning until you get into them.

I've been burned in many of them over the course of the years that resulted in:

  • Destroyed relationships
  • Clients that lost money I had to repay
  • Damage control to protect my integrity
  • An imbalance of the sharing of the work
  • Unfair split in the profits for all the work I'd done

I got tired of partnering up with people who weren't pulling their weight, or simply didn't know how to run a business that benefitted everyone.

I finally got fed up with the bullsh#t and decided not to enter into partnerships with anyone moving forward in the future.  Now, I would still entertain partnering with someone, but not where we were so integrated and intertwined.  9 times out of 10, someone is going to lose.

With partnering, I made a clearly defined checklist of who I would partner with and made sure they had every box checked on that list before I would entertain it.

The same goes for spouses.  I was married 3 times and divorced 3 times because I didn't get real clear about who I would partner with in marriage.  So, I wrote down my list of qualities in my next partner.

I drop some wisdom in this episode that will save you time, money, and heartache in life and business. Tag someone who needs to hear it.  It'll be the biggest gift you give them this year!
